Eaglehawk Neck Dog Line

Part of the rich convict history of the Tasman Peninsula, the Eaglehawk Neck Dog Line stretched across the narrow 30 metre-wide isthmus and used ferocious dogs to prevent convicts escaping from the Peninsula.

In this same area you can also visit the Officers' Quarters which is the only remaining building to survive from the convict era. Built in 1832, it is believed to be the oldest timber military building still standing in Australia and it now houses a museum depicting life on the Tasman Peninsula during the 1800's.
